Peter Hoops, EI, joined Artisan Engineering in 2025. Peter achieved a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont in 2017 and went on to receive a Master of Civil Engineering degree with a focus on Structural Engineering from Norwich University in 2025. For Peter’s master’s capstone project, he created a plan for a historical refurbishment of the Miller Covered Bridge in Lyndon, VT. Peter’s proposal included a detailed structural analysis and solutions to preserve the integrity of this historic timber structure while ensuring its longevity.
Prior to his engineering career, Peter spent eight years as a lead carpenter, where he developed practical knowledge in residential and light commercial construction. This hands-on experience provides Peter with valuable insights into project logistics and beast building practices. Peter uses this blend of academic and field experience to design solutions that are not only structurally sound bit also efficient and cost-effective to construct.
Outside of work, Peter is an avid snowboarder, skateboarder, mountain biker and golf.
